Duke Nukem Forever Confirmed For 2011, Development Done

More Duke Nukem news today. We brought you the video earlier, and now, Gearbox has confirmed that development is done and the game will be released in 2011. Randy Pitchford, the head man over at Gearbox, confirmed that the title is being polished for its release next year. Kinect Does Work In Small Lounges

Kinect Sports developer Rare has poo-pooed worries about the size of the room required by the Xbox360 Kinect motion control system. In July, online retailer Amazon revealed that Kinect would require six feet of space between the player and their television. According to Rare’s senior software engineer, the camera basically configures itself when you set it up. You only need enough space to fit your whole body in the view of the camera. Beyond that, you are good. Great to hear.
Outland Preview

The developer of Super Stardust HD, one of the best early Playstation 3 games available, download or otherwise, has been busy prepping another title that looks to be just as good – Outland. While making the zombie blaster Dead Nation for PSN, Housemarque has also been working with Ubisoft on Outland, an action platformer with the polarity mechanics of Ikaruga. It will be unveiled at PAX this weekend, and it looks amazing from the screenshots already released. The game is a cross between Prince of Persia and as I said, the color switching gameplay of Ikaruga. You take control of an acrobatic player as he explores a colorful, lush, dense, jungle. Check the screenshots at the link.

Yakuza 4 Coming To US In 2011

Yakuza 4 came out in Japan back in March, but Sega has been quiet on whether or not the game will see release Stateside. Well, until now, that is. Sega has just announced that the game will be headed to North America and Europe in the Spring of 2011. Yakuza 4 returns players to Kamurocho, the fictional city based on Tokyo’s red light district — Kabukicho. Kazuma Kiryu, the series’ main character, will be joined by three other playable main characters in this game, and there will be many familiar faces returning. Those of you who need your Shenmue fix, be happy that the Yakuza franchise is apparently set to go on for at least a few more games.
Sony Files Suit In US Against PS3 Jailbreak Maker

Sony Computer Entertainment America has filed a suit against two distributors and the maker of the new PS3 USB Jailbreak device. Zoomba LDC is one of the two distributors targeted. Sony has accused the companies of copyright violation, contravening the DMCA, and trademark infringement, amongst a few other charges. The suit was filed in California district court, and seeks an injunction against the sale of the device. Sony recently won a similar case against the device in Australia, and the sale of the device is pretty much banned down under. Stay tuned.
